Porcelain (porcelain) and Limoges ware are traditional crafts of Limoges County, located slightly west of inland central France. Each Limoges Box is a small, hinged box that is hand-painted by an artist, making it a one-of-a-kind treasure. This is a one-of-a-kind item full of flavor.
This Limoges box is signed Peint Main Limoges France Eximious on the bottom of the box and the artist’s initials on the bottom right of the heart. Peint Main means “hand-painted” in French.
The beautiful designs on the outside of the Limoges box alone are captivating, but the inside of the box, on the bottom and back of the lid, is also expertly decorated with pictures, patterns, and letters.
The Limoges box began as a sniff box for French aristocrats in the 18th century, but it was also used as a pill box for medicine, a needle box for sewing tools, and more. It has developed into various forms of decorative art, including trinket boxes for storing jewelry and small mementoes. Due to their high decorative value, they are collector’s items all over the world.
Please use it as a treasure to store your small treasures.
