The top of the Christmas tree is a round-shaped garnet. This is aVintage Christmas tree brooch made by Swoboda, where the leaves of the tree are set with creamy green stones and crypso lace, and the ornament is set with purplish garnets.
The back of the brooch is signed Swoboda.
Swobodadoes not create ‘typical’ cut gemstone jewellery, but uses simply polished natural stones in colorful colours, often featuring birds, flowers and insects. It is known for its wonderful designs with nature as a motif. It was founded in Los Angeles in 1956 and continued until 1979.
It is said that engravings began to be engraved in 1966, and jewelry and accessories made before that time are not engraved.
