Florenza-Dianthus Flower Raft Brooch

An antique brooch with two autumn flowers, dianthus, placed on a leaf painted with green and pearly silver enamel.

The flowers are very three-dimensional and have a somewhat Japanese-style feel, reminiscent of kimono patterns or flower rafts.

There is a stamp of FLORENZA © on the back. Florenza is a brand name started in 1948 by The Dan Kasoff Company, a jewelry manufacturer founded in New York in 1937. It was named after the founder and designer’s wife, Florence. It closed in 1981.
