An antique brooch with a bezel-set onyx stone that looks like a large eye, and a ribbon-like motif of two leaves on both sides.

Onyx is said to be a power stone that gives you inner strength, concentration, will power, stabilizing your axis, and giving you the power to move forward.

The back of the brooch is engraved with CATAMORE. Catamore was founded in 1942 in Rhode Island, the mecca of American costume jewelry. This manufacturer continued until 1981.
