BB-Pearl Gold Daffodil Brooch

A vintage brooch with a large pearl in the center of a star-shaped daffodil-like flower. The petals are delicately shaped, and each one has a very delicate carving, with a design with three notches.

Daffodils seem to be the birth flower of January or December in Japan, but in the United States and England they are the birth flower of March. In the language of flowers, “conceit” is widely known from the Greek myth of Narcissus, but other flowers include “mystery” and “in response to love.” In the West, it blooms in spring and is considered a symbol of hope.

This is a Binder Bros. Inc. item with B.B. stamped on the back. Binder Bros. is a manufacturer that started in Germany in 1912 and was founded in New York in 1922.

It is a moist and shining brooch that goes well with Japanese clothing as an obi clasp for kimonos.

Gold filled is more than 100 times thicker than regular gold plating (gold coating), and because it is bonded with heat, it is durable and difficult to peel off, and its color and texture are comparable to solid gold. In Western Europe, it is often seen in high-quality antique jewelry and vintage accessories with high design.
