Antique Carousel Collection Pattern Art Linen Kitchen Cloth

A vintage linen kitchen cloth designed with eight antique merry-go-round horse designs. Rocking horses are not just horses; they also include the 2010 zodiac signs: tiger, rabbit, cat, bear, zebra, white horse, black horse, and even a frog!

The merry-go-round (carousel in English) dates back to around 500 AD, and gradually developed in Germany, France, Italy, and England in the 18th century, and was developed by Dentzel in Germany and Dare in England in the 19th century. Since moving to America, it has developed and matured greatly.

Dentzel and Looff in each illustration of the kitchen cloth are the names of venerable merry-go-round manufacturers. Flirting Rabbit is a wooden rabbit statue hand-carved by Dentzel. It’s fun to study the history and original statues one by one.
