●Brand, Designer: Coro, probably Adolph Katz
●Engraving: Coro
●Condition: Vintage Excellent (The top of the pendant, which can also be used as a brooch, is gold, and all of the rhinestones are in excellent mint condition. The choker is also in generally excellent condition, but the clasp is a frequently touched part, so it has aged well. The gold has faded due to use. Please check the enlarged photo.
The design is shaped like a lily of the valley and is cute. A choker-type necklace with two prong-set flowers lined with emerald green rhinestones, a noble color. However, the top part of the pendant is a very rare and useful antique brooch and necklace that can also be used as a brooch.
At the calyx of the flower, there is a clover-shaped drop, and at the tip of the flower and part of the three-dimensionally curved ribbon, there is a clear line that sparkles like water droplets. The stones are shining and it is a very elegant item. The vintage logo of Coro, an American vintage costume jewelry brand, is engraved on the back of the brooch and on the back of the necklace’s clasp.
The brand name comes from the two founders, “Co” for Emanuel Cohen and “Ro” for Gerald Rosenberg. Founded in 1901, the company name was changed to Coro Inc. in 1943. Production in America continued until 1979 and in Canada until 1998 .
Designer and director Adolf Katz, a visionary who joined the company in 1924, played a pivotal role in leading it to rapid growth as America’s largest costume jewelry company. Along with Trifari, this manufacturer produces a wide range of products, from affordable to luxury lines in terms of quality and design, and is also an easy-to-collect brand.
Corocraft, launched in 1937, and Vendome, launched in 1944, are the company’s luxury brand lines.
